The primary fruit source for the Girard Sauvignon Blanc is the winery's estate vineyard, which is located on the north side of St. Helena. Girard also sources fruit from the highly respected Crocker vineyard and the acclaimed Morgan Ranch at the base of Mt. Vaca. All three vineyards provide warm days and cool nights, combined with dense clay alluvial soils—excellent growing environments for Sauvignon Blanc. A very clean, fresh and crisp 100% Sauvignon Blanc. It has lush aromas of pineapple, guava and banana, while the palate exhibits fresh-cut grapefruit and tangy lemon zest. A wonderful aperitif wines that pairs well with lighter white fish, green salads and goat cheese.

An opaque almost black colored Petite Sirah opens with a very fragrant blackberry bouquet with notes of blueberry and vanilla oak. This wine is full bodied, nicely balanced, and savory with a flavor profile that is a rich with extracted blackberry and boysenberry, a dash of pepper and oak mixed in. The finish is quite dry and its sticky tannins are rather lengthy. The blend is 89% Petite Sirah, 8% Zinfandel, 2% Mourvedre and 1% Grenache and is fermented in steel. It was barrel aged in both American (25%) and French (75%) oak, which further explains the complexity and elegant, tightly woven structure. This fruit bomb goes well with duck smothered in a cherry amaretto sauce or a pot roast "This juicy red shows bright red berry and blackberry flavors that are balanced by thick, rustic tannins, with spice and cedar details and a touch of smokiness on the finish. Drink now through 2020. 2,600 cases made." 90 Points, Wine Spectator

Beef Course Braised Beef Short Rib And Risotto Cake Mascarpone, Red Wine Reduction And Micro Basil
The vintage is richly garnet in color with aromas of black cherry, ripe plum and cassis. There are also nuances of leather, toasted hazelnut and winter spices. On the palate, this firmly-textured wine offers a full-mouth feel with flavors of coffee, chocolate-covered cherries, berry tart and currants. The tannins are very well integrated, making the wine approachable at an early age. There are multiple layers to this complex blend that reveal themselves through decanting or by giving the wine time to open up in the glass. Made from 59% Cabernet Sauvignon, 19% Cabernet Franc, 11% Malbec, 6% Merlot, and 5% Petit Verdot that is aged in 50% new and 50% once used French oak, the wine brings plenty of the classic Napa Cab blackberry and cassis aromas. You can recommend this wine to friends who like Bordeaux blends as well as California quality and value. You will enjoy this wine, smell it, sip it, well integrated tannins and decent acidity provide structure to the blend, and the complex flavors will linger on your palate. "Very rich and ripe in fruit, and also rich in new oak. The combination makes for mouth-filling blackberry and cherry pie filling, currant, licorice, dark chocolate and spicy flavors that are frankly delicious. The finish is quick, suggesting this lovely wine is best enjoyed in its youth." 90 Points, Wine Enthusiast

French oak can’t help but star here. This wine is aged for 16 months in 50% new French oak. The rich, buttery blackberry pie flavors don’t get lost. Vanilla and spice simply accent the more robust dark fruit aromas, blending with mocha, cigar box herb and spice notes that carry from the nose to the palate with a homogeneous yet layered package. The tannins are chewy and linger with spice on the finish. Drink this now with some air or give it a little nap in your cellar to let the tannins and fruit integrate over the next few years. Winemaker Notes: The 2008 vintage is medium-to-full-bodied and presents enticing aromas of toffee, leather, cocoa and blackberries. On the palate, you’ll discover vanilla, raspberry, cassis and spicy pepper. The silky tannins are well integrated and accompanied by balanced acidity. 94.5% Cabernet Sauvignon, 2% Merlot, 2% Malbec & 1.5% Cabernet Franc "A youthful, full bodied, generously flavored Cabernet, with luscious texture, rich fruitiness, and a long finish, tasting of cassis, blackberry, cedar, and spicy oak. Unusually good, and a wonderful value." 4+ Stars, Restaurant Wine “Ripe fruit and fine, polished tannins with aromas of ripe red fruit and spicy oak. On the palate lush and lively fruit, while the finish is delicious and lingers on the palate. Enjoy it now, but know that this Cabernet will continue to improve with proper aging for another decade.” 90 points, Excellent, Highly Recommended by Ultimate Beverage Challenge.
