The Black family purchased an existing vineyard in the Dundee Hills of the Willamette Valley in 2003 as a family retreat. They immediately began turning the estate into a sustainably farmed, well-tended vineyard with the goal of producing rich, elegant, delicious and complex wines. That same year The Four Graces was founded. The winery is named in honor of the Black's four daughters. In 2005, the Blacks purchased the Doe Ridge property in Yamhill Carlton to continue the growth of the brand. They chose a site in a differing appellation to add complexity and variety. This vineyard has been turned into one of the largest experiments of its kind with forty acres farmed sustainably through the L.I.V.E (low impact viticulture and enology) program. Today, The Four Graces produces Pinot Noir, Pinot Gris, and Pinot Blanc renowned nationally and internationally for their balance, elegance, complexity, and richness. The 2015 growing season was great for a second year in a row. Bud break was three weeks ahead of normal and the growing season maintained that lead through to harvest. The summer’s consistently hot days were followed by warm nights and just the right amount of sprinkling rain. The higher than average overnight lows allowed grapes to mature faster without putting stress on the vines, which lets the grapes come together in balance and flavor to produce an excellent wine. Yields were generous and overall quality looked great too. The grapes for The Four Graces Pinot Gris are sourced from the Foley Family Estate Vineyard (37%) as well as Olsen Vineyard & Kramer Vineyard for the remaining (63%), two high quality Willamette Valley vineyards. True to the varietal, this Pinot Gris is deliciously bright, fresh and crisp. On the nose, lychee fruit, mandarin and grapefruit zest mingle with subtle white flowers. This Pinot Gris fills the mouth with sweet Meyer lemon and orange blossom. A bright acidity is balanced by warm honey and cantaloupe that lead into a long, soft finish.

Chalk Hill wines are all Estate grown in the Russian River Valley, bottled and produced on the 1277 acre Chalk Hill Estate with 280 acres grown to vine. Since its founding, Chalk Hill has been producing artisan wines from its vineyards in the hills of northeastern Sonoma County. Four decades of studying, prodding and coaxing the complex terroir to ensure that their Estate wines deliver vivid aromatics, commanding flavors, great character and regional accuracy. While the 300+ acres of vineyards surrounding the winery will always be the cornerstone of their identity, starting with the 2011 vintage, in addition to their Estate Chardonnay, they started producing the Sonoma Coast Chardonnay. The 2016 Sonoma Coast Chardonnay comes from extraordinary vineyards throughout Sonoma and Monterey Counties consisting primarily of Foley Family estate vineyards. The Sonoma Coast Chardonnay features fruit from some of the best sites in Carneros, Chalk Hill, Chalone and the Sonoma Coast. The fruit coming from the Chalk Hill AVA provides richness, concentration, viscosity and nuttiness, while the Carneros AVA delivers structure and notes of apple and pear. The 2016 vintage produced fruit of exceptional quality and concentration. Spring temperatures were moderate with fruit set in early to mid-May. The summer months were warm and dry allowing for even ripening and balanced flavors. August and September continued the trend of warmer temperatures compared to the 2015 vintage. The wine was barrel fermented and aged for 8 months in French, American, and Hungarian oak (30% new). Regular lees stirring and Malolactic fermentation provided additional richness and viscosity to this Chardonnay. Rich, graceful and balanced are just some of the ways to describe the 2016 Sonoma Coast Chardonnay. The wine is a light golden color and exudes aromas of apple and baking spice immediately upon entering the glass. The palate has a rich textural body composed by zest and acidity with flavors of toasted hazelnut, vanilla and crème brûlée. With its cool-climate influences, this Chardonnay has remarkable varietal intensity, balanced acidity and minerality that complement the rich and full flavors on the palate.

Two Sisters is named after Bill and Carol Foley's two daughters, Lindsay and Courtney. The wines come from the prized Rancho Las Hermanas property in the Sta. Rita Hills AVA. The Courtney's Vineyard Chardonnay and Lindsay's Vineyard Pinot Noir showcase the best blocks on the estate. They feature both heritage and heirloom clones chosen specifically for their character, flavor profile and compatibility with the terroir. The 2015 vintage Pinot Noir was early, light and exceptionally high in quality. The vines experienced no hard dormancy and above average temperatures in February which resulted in an early bud break. The drought patterns from previous years and throughout the season yielded fruit with smaller berry and cluster size. This ultimately translated into intense flavor concentration producing wines that are rich, complex and intense in character. This Pinot Noir was hand-harvested from Lindsay’s Vineyard in the Sta. Rita Hills. The clusters were then de-stemmed with no crushing and the must was cold-soaked in open-top fermenters for four days prior to inoculation. Each tank was manually punched down daily for more extraction. The wine was then transferred to tank for settling after primary fermentation and maceration. Finally, individual lots were racked to 100% new French oak barrels and aged for 16 months. This limited production Reserve 2015 is an elegant, sophisticated wine for the true Pinot Noir connoisseur. The nose is filled with dark fruit notes of spicy plum, earthy pomegranate and cacao. Intense black pepper and juicy blackberry flavors fill the palate with accents of cured tobacco. The nicely structured mouthfeel is followed by lingering black cherry on the finish. This wine earned 93 points from Wine Enthusiast.

Producing intense wines from the wilds of Eastern Napa, Kuleto Estate features 761 total acres and 90 acres of vines perched along ridges and clinging to steep hillsides. The soils, exposures, elevation changes and sub-climates are so complex that that the property has been delineated into more than 100 micro blocks, each treated as an individual vineyard with varieties and farming methods tailored specifically to the site. The wines from Kuleto Estate are always deep and luscious. Like vintage 2012, vintage 2013 was ‘perfect’ by nearly all grape-growing standards in that yields were slightly above average, the weather was evenly warm, and fruit moved toward ideal ripeness without the fits and starts of the preceding two vintages. This produced wines with tremendous fruit flavors and textural depth. If you’re wondering if those in the Napa Valley ever tire of ‘perfect’ vintages, the answer is “not at all”. Putting together the 2013 estate Cabernet Sauvignon blend posed a challenge due to a wealth of riches from such a vintage. Every lot was of such high quality that it was hard to high-grade any wine. It wasn’t until they tasted barrel by barrel that subtle differences in quality emerged within and among the wines. The goal for the “estate” blend is to create a wine that broadly represents Kuleto Estate in a given vintage. Barrels were selected from 12 different lots of wine that originated from 24 different blocks on the property. The hallmarks of the vintage were tremendous fruit perfume, classic balance and great length. Without the typical heat spikes, there were no over-ripe aromas, and the wines retained their strong varietal and location-driven characteristics all the way into the bottle. The 2013 Estate Cabernet Sauvignon (87% Cabernet Sauvignon, 5% Merlot, 4% Cab Franc, 4% Petit Verdot) has an uncommon purity to its aromas. Fresh ripe berries, plums, fresh bay leaves, red meat, the first smoke from a fire - each of these primary aromas vying for attention when first poured into the glass. The mouth is plush and succulent with red fruit flavors and a meaty, iron-like quality. It will be fascinating to see how the flavors and aromas integrate as the wine ages.

Roth Estate is committed to crafting full-flavored wines grown in the best Sonoma County vineyard sites. Beginning in 2001, Roth started producing Cabernet Sauvignon blends from hillside locations in the famed Alexander Valley. A decade later, the winery expanded to include Sauvignon Blanc and Merlot from its home Alexander Valley AVA and also ventured west toward the Sonoma Coast for cool climate sites for Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. 2014 was an excellent vintage in Sonoma County. A relatively early start to the growing season was offset by moderate temperatures and consistently dry, warm days which allowed even ripening of the grapes. The fruit was harvested at optimal maturity. Heritage is a red blend (30% Malbec, 19% Cabernet Sauvignon, 18% Syrah, 13% Zinfandel, 13% Petite Sirah and 7% Petit Verdot) which celebrates the perseverant and relentless spirit of Roth’s forefathers. This wine is a tribute to their proud heritage and commemorates the many bold journeys that shaped our great country. The 2014 Roth Heritage is rich and complex with a deep ruby hue. Concentrated aromas of black cherry, violet and vanilla open to an inviting mouthfeel. The wine’s palate is bold, layered and silky with black fruit notes balanced by an impressive tannin structure. The finish is long and lively with sweet oak and vanilla nuances.
